The B2B giant has leveraged a B2C user experience concept from Amazon to enhance its My Account functionality by offering its customers customized messaging and useful tasks persistently at the top of the page throughout all My Account pages.
A more customized experience in the My Account section makes users feel like the company is there to help them perform their job better. Specific messaging and personalized information makes it easier for customers to get in and manage their own jobs quickly. MSC now provides a summary of orders, quotes, lists, and PO Control at the top of the page. It provides concise information that’s easily digestible for each user. For example, if a user has pending orders to approve, there’s specific messaging there at the top to remind them to go in and approve those orders.
Users can get into the site and quickly see what tasks they can perform. MSC even provides instructional links associated to the specific tasks so users can see how to use all of the site’s functionality. The company does a great job at advertising all of the functionality available to users to run their businesses more efficiently.
